We hardly use notebooks. Really. If I could sum up all the things that the kids write on their notebooks for the whole year, including doodles and what-nots, each child would consume only 1 notebook. This year, however, I have decided to incorporate notebook writing for the two kids as this would eventually prepare them for independent work.
I developed our own homeschool notebook as I considered the things that I would need the kids to write down on their own without me having to prompt them. This includes note-taking, their reading list (books they have finished writing), and passwords to their online accounts for typing, etc.
My goal as well is to limit the number of papers lying around the house so I also included in the homeschool notebook their Math pages (grid lines that are bigger than the usual Math notebooks you see in bookstores and malls), spelling quiz, and Wikahon answer pages.
