In our first year of marriage I got pregnant right away. We were still living then at an apartment in Anonas and my journey to becoming a mom included the nearest hospital, World Citi Med, which was a 3-minute walk from our apartment. I gave birth to Little V via an emergency C-section in 2011 at World Citi Med. When I heard that they have a new maternity wing to launch, I got curious on how different the hospital and the experience would be for expecting moms now. It's been years since I last visited the hospital because we now live far and visiting the hospital again would bring a lot of memories.
Mothers Class |
On August 14, World Citi Med opened their world-class new maternity wing. The event included a pre-natal mothers class offered for free for expecting moms. Breastfeeding, prenatal and postnatal care were some of the topics discussed. Aside from the seminar, participants were treated to a delectable morning snack and they also brought home goodies from event partners: The Parenting Emporium, Beginnings, Cetaphil, Pampers, Huggies, and Wilkins Pure, Chicco, and Mommytreats.

Along with the launching of the new maternity wing is the pre-natal and maternity packages of the hospital which can help expecting moms save a lot of money.Below are the pre-natal packages available:

I was really in awe with the beauty of the new wing. I have given birth at three different hospitals and have seen four maternity wings and this, by far, is the most beautiful I have ever laid my eyes on.

How come this did not open before I gave birth earlier this year? Sayang!
The color palette of the place is inviting and the portraits along the hallways serve as reminders for a woman in labor that the journey will all be worthwhile. It's very calming, in my opinion.
I have also noticed the wallpapers and flooring used in the rooms. It’s like walking inside a condominium unit. They did not use the usual off-white tiles on the floor, common in hospital rooms.

The design of the place was
carefully planned with the patient's comfort as their main inspiration. Even
the mother's food menu was specially curated during the planning stage. This
shows how much the hospital value the customer experience of their patients.
The rooms offered are ward, private rooms, and the biggest is their suite.

Did you know that they use card key to open doors in this wing? Lakas maka sosyal. Parang hotel! I love it!

Here’s a video of the launch:
There's also a breastfeeding station on the wing.
World Citi Med is a mom and baby friendly. They promote breastfeeding and have lactation consultants to help moms breastfeed.
Wifi is also available inside the rooms of the maternity wing. This will enable moms and dads to share with their friends and families the good news and first photos of their babies.
I would have to commend the big changes on the look and services of the hospital. Even the lobby has a new look. It's refreshing to see how much love was put into work in the maternity wing.
It makes me a bit sad that I was not able to experience this. Bakit ba kasi hindi ito nabuksan bago ako manganak nung May. Three months ago lang yun. Sayang! Ha ha! But seriously speaking, I am ecstatic for expecting moms who will be able to experience the new facilities and care of the medical staff.

DeleteHi, can I ask for OB and pedia suggestion from World Citi Med? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lassie! Sorry for the late revert, I did not see your comment. My OB in World Citi has retired already. Not sure if my son's pedia is still there, we transferred doctors since we moved. My son's pedia there was Dra. Enciso. I highly recommend her.
