Last week marked this blog's 6th month. We made it halfway through the year, baby! *fist bump* Yay! Quite frankly, I am surprised by the numbers my blog has produced in such a short time. This humble little virtual space has grown exponentially, more than I ever expected. I am just at awe and filled with gratitude for the support you all give. I am so blessed.
Blogging has given me opportunities to join events, meet new friends and share life experiences. I am very thankful to my online blog sorority (yes, that's how I call it. LOL!) Mommy Bloggers Philippines, who has helped me a lot in this journey. Fellow mom bloggers, you all rock!
For this celebration, I'm giving you a treat. If you're not new to my blog, you may have noticed that I hardly write about myself. Most posts are about my little boy. For today, I'm sharing with you 6 random facts about me. I hope you'll enjoy reading them.
1. I don't own a touch-screen phone
In this age and time when everyone I know have touch-screen phones, I use a qwerty. I've never owned an iPhone nor an Android. I really prefer using my Blackberry, which has been with me for almost 2 years now. Prior to BB, I've used qwerty phones by Nokia and Cherry Mobile. But who knows, I might change my mind anytime soon.
2. I used to love Sailormoon
If you were born in the 80s, I bet you know who Sailormoon is. I was in high school when she first appeared in Channel 5 and after watching one episode, I was hooked to it. Where did my obsession bring me? I formed a group of beautiful and smart Sailor Warriors in school, channel 5 gave me a Sailormoon poster, and I met some of the voice talents behind Sailormoon (Tagalized).
3. I was a call center girl
Fresh from college I was one of those unfortunate additions to the labor force who was unable to practice their undergraduate courses. The call center industry has started to boom in the early 2000s and that's where I made a career for ten glorious years. I started as a directory assistant agent for UK and US clients; my first week on the call floor was literally filled with tears. I also worked as a QA Verifier, while the rest of my more than 7 years were spent in Human Resources. Before leaving the corporate life, my last projects were for organizational effectiveness and talent management. And oh yeah, 70% of the time I was a working night owl.
4. My right pinkie is bent backwards
It was my sister who noticed the exaggeration of my right pinkie bending backwards. It's probably because for years I've always used my right pinkie as my bookmark while I read a pocket book. When texting, I also use it as a base for my phone. Weird, I know!
5. I don't watch horror films
There was a time in my early 20s when I really enjoyed watching horror films. Now, I don't. I've realized that spending money to scare myself (and get insomnia!) is not a great way to spend hard-earned cash.
6. I have an unfinished cross stitch project (or projects!)
Before Little V was born, I purchased a cross stitch packet with a pattern for an angel. I planned to finish and frame it before my son arrived. Three and a half years later, it's still a work in progress. I also have other unfinished cross stitch projects that I left at my parents house. Talk about procrastination!

DeleteI can relate to number 1 random fact about you. For a long time, I also don't own a touch-screen phone not until last Dec. I just relied on my Nokia E63 for almost 4 years and my iTouch for Instagram. I would usually be the last one to have the latest "in" thing. But to keep up with the technology generation, I convinced myself that I wanted to try owning a touch-screen phone to make surfing and sharing photos easier and so I bought my very first Android phone. :)
ReplyDeleteI need to keep up with the technology, too. Reading posts using my BB is strenuous to my eyes!
DeleteThanks for joining and good luck! :)
I love no. 2 because me as well was a sailormoon fan! My fave among the sailor warriors is sailor venus because I am as pretty as her, lol!

ReplyDeleteI'm also an 80's kiddo and just like you, I love used to love sailormoon too. I was very fascinated with the gorgeous lady superheroes like them, who wouldn't right? Plus the sexy outfit... wooah! Haha! How I wish I can wear those with CONFIDENCE and utter the words, ""Ako ang magandang tagapagtanggol ng pag-ibig at katarungan! Ako si Sailor Moon! Parurusahan kita sa ngalan ng buwan!" Hahaha! ;P
Haha! I secretly wished in highschool that our uniforms will be like those that the sailor warriors were wearing! :-D
