Have you been to a hospital and waited for hours before your outpatient health care provider can assist you? Have you had to bring your healthy child to a hospital for a scheduled immunization only to be seated next to another patient that has a communicable disease? Which left you wondering, what if we will be another case of hospital-acquired disease? I have.
Last May 23, together with a group of mommy bloggers, I was invited to QualiMed's Blogger Event. In this event, we saw the health network's brand of revolutionary healthcare delivery capabilities that focuses on caring for women and children.

Owned and operated by Mercado General Hospital Inc (MGHI), QualiMed is envisioned as a network of health care facilities devoted to fulfilling its commitment to 3As, - Accessibility, Affordability, and Appropriateness. With the brand promise, Alagang Abot-Kaya, the healthcare facilities of QualiMed are intended to cater to the needs of the C market.
Each QualiMed health care facility has capabilities and services ranging from that of a multi-specialty medical clinic, day surgery center, to a full-service general hospital. QualiMed assures patients with their competent medical teams that are supported by advanced medical equipment and health-care technology systems.
Accessibility
Ayala Land Inc (ALI) has partnered with MGHI, its first healthcare venture, bringing QualiMed's facilities to Ayala's most strategic developments.
Study shows that up to 80% of patients who visit health care providers are outpatients. This means that most of us who go to hospitals requires primary care and need not be admitted. Which is why I prefer mall-based clinics because they are accessible, time efficient, and less stressful (because of less hospital-acquired disease we may get in contact with). I am excited that finally an Ayala Land venture, through QualiMed, has opened its first mall-based clinic in Trinoma last February.
QualiMed will open its mall-based QualiMed Clinic in Fairview Terraces later this year which will be 4x bigger than Trinoma's, and will function as a day surgery center where minor outpatient surgical procedures can be done. By the end of the year, both QualiMed Clinics will be near my location. Yay!
QualiMed works as a team, this means that if your physician is not present, there will always be a specialized doctor on duty to provide services to you. Now, you don't have to wait for a schedule as to when a practitioner will be available before you can be checked.

Affordability
QualiMed offers quality but affordable healthcare. In fact, their services are 30-40% lower than premium hospitals. They benchmark their rates with both premier and public hospitals. In addition, their doctors are salaried thus regulating their professional fees (PFs). PFs are already factored into the rates of its services. This means, there will be no more unpredictable PFs which most us dread.
QualiMed also offer bundled services which brings down the rates of their services even lower.
QualiMed accepts HMO cards.
Appropriateness
QualiMed monitors the performance of their doctors. They impose clinical practice guidelines and tracks the compliance of their doctors through their electronic medical records. Patients are assured that they will only be prescribed with the appropriate procedures based on best practices and clinical practice guidelines. This means no more over prescription or procedures just for the clinic/hospital to earn profit. I, myself, do not like taking medicines unless it's really really needed. This commitment of QualiMed to appropriateness is good news to me.

I am very much impressed with QualiMed's facilities, more so with their vision and mission to provide quality but affordable healthcare to Filipinos. This is one healthcare provider I am looking forward to see expand and reach more of my countrymen in the future.
