Spectrum @ Fairmont Makati

After almost half a year of hiatus, Hubby and I were finally able to have our most anticipated date! Yup, just the two of us.

As a stay-at-home mom with no yaya in the house, it's really hard for me and Hubby to find time alone as a couple. So, I was just so ecstatic when we were finally able to have our date! :)

After our movie date with Chris Evans, Hubby treated me for a dinner date at the buffet restaurant of Fairmont Makati. I mentioned previously in my Fairmont Makati review that I ran around Spectrum following our hyperactive son. Now, I will have the chance to savor the richness of the flavors without having to worry about a 3-foot little man.

When we got to the restaurant, it was a few minutes before 6PM. The hotel was having an Earth Hour activity at 8PM so we were expecting for the crowd to come before the event starts.

As we enter, we were greeted and ushered to our table. The place is just so beautiful. Sophistication is written all over the place. I just really love the ambiance.

Our waitress asked for our drinks. Hubby answered right away with Mango shake while I told the lady to "surprise me."I sounded like the food critic in the movie, Ratatouille. Ha ha!

Hubby wanted his salmon so we first visited the seafood area where fresh seafood and maki were served. Chef Garbin prepared our salmon. He suggested I try the temaki, veggie maki, and salmon skin maki, which I did.

I continued to browse the area and took only Greek chicken, Beef stew, and some rice. I can't eat too much in one sitting. I can eat a lot but I have to break the portions after every few hours. Buffet is not really the best place for slow and minimal eaters like me. LOL!

Back to the drink that I requested, I got really surprised with the what they gave me - a strawberry cocktail. It has a mixed flavor of strawberry and raspberry that was such a delight on my palate.

My drink - strawberry cocktail. The blue crystals around the rim is not salt, it's sugar. No alcohol in this drink ;)

Whilst enjoying our dinner, Chef Aihab, halal chef of Spectrum, approached our table and gave us a platter of Manakish. My favorite is the bread with herbs and spices. It tastes so good!

Chef Aihab did not stop there. After every few minutes, he comes to our table bringing new dishes to satisfy our palates! They all tasted soooo good! I am so full but I kept eating what he's bringing at the table. It's just too good to let it pass.

Mexican Seafood - definitely a MUST-try!

For dessert, I've asked Hubby to get me one since I felt so full and just wanted to sit on my chair. He got me an English toffee. Yumyum!

We were about to leave when a waiter came and gave us a fruit platter courtesy of Chef Aihab. Oh Chef! You make me feel so special. :)

Spectrum may not have the widest food selection as compared to other 5-star hotels. However, the taste, ambiance, the perfection of each dish, and the service that the people put in this place makes their guests feel they've gotten more than what they have paid for.
