Burger Mackerel Recipe

Did you know that mackerel is an oily fish that is highly recommended for a healthy diet alongside sardines and salmon? And I can easily get it from the supermarket or a sari-sari store.

Napakaraming brands na makikita sa eskaparate sa pamilihan eto hindi lang basta nakasanayan, the best na yan. Kaya basta Mackerel dapat tatak Unipak.

I usually cook mackerel with misua or with egg. But my husband, the awesome cook that he is, has come up with his own recipe using mackerel and we'd like to share it with you.

Mackerel Burger Recipe

Ingredients:
1 Uni-Pak Mackerel in Natural Oil 425g
1 Uni-Pak Mackerel in Natural Oil 155g
1 cup Japanese breadcrumbs
2 eggs
1 sachet Ajinomoto Pork Savor seasoning
oil
potatoes
onion
ketchup
mayonnaise
mustard
lettuce
burger buns

Procedure:
1. Drain the two cans of Uni-Pak mackerel; remove bones
2. In a bowl, combine mackerel, eggs, breadcrumbs, seasoning
3. Mold into patties
4. In medium heat, fry patties in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil for 5 minutes
5. Set aside.
6. For french fries, cut potatoes and dip them in iced-cold water before frying. Drain excess oil in paper towels
7. Assemble burger: Place on buns the patty, lettuce, some mustard, caramelized onion, and mayonnaise.
