Homeschool Curriculum for Language Arts SY 2024-2025

Following our decision to forego a Philippine Department of Education accreditation for the schooling of our two younger kids, we are looking for materials that we can use for our independent homeschooling.  We already completed the payment of the tuition fees of Ate Z and Bunso for their US accreditation, this means that beginning in July, we will report to our US homeschool provider for their grades. In the past month, I have been looking for a homeschool curriculum for language arts that we can use. My goals were for us to use an open-and-go curriculum and for the kids to start learning independently.

I searched Amazon, looked at reviews on YouTube, and checked websites. Finally, I have decided to go for The Good and The Beautiful (TGTB). We have been looking into using their curriculum for years and tried a couple of lessons, but we kept stopping and going back to our DepEd accredited textbook. This year, we will be able to use TGTB in its full beauty. It is my hope that the curriculum will be a great fit for our family.

The Good and The Beautiful Language Arts curriculum is free to download from their website. You can also purchase the physical products but since we will be shelling out a big amount for shipping to the Philippines, we opted to have it printed and bound here.

The Language Arts curriculum for Level 2 that our Bunso will be using has a course book, reading booster cards, and 2 reading books.

I think that Level 2 will be a breeze for our Bunso who is already a voracious reader. The other lessons on grammar and spelling would be amazing and a great fit for his age. We will look into it if we need to jump to Level 3 but for now, we will go with Level 2.

For Level 4 that our daughter will use,  it has a spelling and writing book, a course book, and 2 reading books (one of which is filled with biographies).

I will share more about our journey on our channel.
