Staycation | Luxent Hotel Review

When I was still single, I made sure that I do something special for myself on my birthday. These past few years however, I've opted to just spend my special day at home, work in the office (when I was still working), or have an early luncheon celebration with the family on weekends. This year was different.

The loving husband surprised me- a couple of weeks before my birthday- with a message that we'll go on staycation on my birthday. Weeeee!!! I was so thrilled! Thank you, my love! :) Finally, a break from the mundane life! Ha ha! (BTW, this was in February-super late post!)

Luxent Hotel is a relatively new travel and leisure destination in Quezon City. This 14-stories hotel opened just a few years ago and had great reviews that made Hubby decide that we try it on my special day.

Parking

The parking entrance of the hotel is at the left side of the building. The ramp was steep going up to the parking area.

I liked that the elevator lobby at the parking levelc has an ambiance that you're in a hotel. You could see, smell, and feel it.

We headed down to the lobby to check-in.

Checking-in

While waiting, I saw that there's a Medical City Satellite Clinic across the street. Cool. JIC.

There's a bar and a bakery stall at the lobby. And whilst the place was filled with people - who I assumed were guests for a convention that day - I bought some pastries from their Chinese New Year-inspired bakery stall.

Room Types

Luxent Hotel has a total of 109 Deluxe King and Superior Queen rooms. These respectively have 1 king bed and 2 queen beds, with a floor space of 37 sqm.

There are 7 Executive Suites each with separate living room and pantry. It has a floor space of 49 sqm.

The Luxent Suite is their presidential suite with a total floor space of 161 sqm, it has a living room, a mini bar and complete dining space.

Let me show you the room:

Pantry with complimentary mini bar

I really loved the complimentary mini bar. The chips and everything inside the fridge. I lost the photo of what's inside the fridge but let me just tell you that it was filled with more than enough beverages  that  we had to bring home some that we weren't able to finish.

They also have a CBTL espresso.

Spacious bathroom!

We also requested for a baby cot (no fee) for Baby Z and they were able to setup her bed right away.

I noticed that the complimentary fruit platter was not in our room, as well as the soap for bubble bath. Which was a bummer since there's a tub but no bath gel was available. All that was in the bathroom were face soaps. I had to call housekeeping to bring the platter and soap in.

Another concern that we had was the main door to our suite. Di sya nasasara ng maayos. Di sya nakalapat ng tama. You have to bang the door so you can close it properly-sorry to the guests from the other rooms. Nakakaloka parang di hotel ang pinto di man lang maayos.

Other than the concerns I raised above, we're all good with our room.

Garden Cafe

For my birthday dinner, we dined at their Garden Cafe at the ground floor. We made reservations a few days before our stay just to make sure we'd have seats.

I wasn't able to take enough photos because of the baby who preferred to be carried all throughout dinnertime.

While having desserts, I was surprised that the dining team approached, sang a happy birthday song, and gave me a cake. So sweet. Thank you!! And of course, to the Hubby who told them about my special day :)

We also had our breakfast in this resto and I'd say that the staff were ready to assist with your needs. The breakfast buffet offered enough varieties of food but nothing particularly was special that caught my attention. The dinner had more variety, of course.

It was raining the next morning and the pool water was freezing so the kids just took a dip in the bath tub.

Overall Experience

Luxent is a business hotel yet it's perfect for those who want a quick getaway without having to go to Makati or Ortigas. Luxent would be great for groups of friends since they are near the restos and event happenings along Timog and Tomas Morato.

As for value for money for a 1-bedroom suite for a family of 4, I'd prefer Discovery Suite's Serendpity rooms since those are well-lighted and have all the kitchen tools you'd need.

  14. Hearing / reading the complimentary laman of the ref, i would like to ask husband that we spend my son's birthday there! Ihihi. We usually treat the boys ng overnight staycation ob their birthdays. Been to Luxent once to attend an event and there were a lot of business meetings going on at the hotel's main lobby. And its near our place so its kinda convenient, kahit taxi papunta pwede.

  15. Ang nice naman ng place and very well set up. Nice to hear that they gave the cot for free and they have complimentary snacks (which most hotels charge for!). I'm sure you had so much fun. Sayang lang this is so far from us since we're from Cavite pa.
