Trip to Ark Avilon

We've been passing through C-5 for years and each time we do, I always get a glimpse of that big ark in Frontera Verda (Tiendesitas). I have been able to visit Avilon Zoo twice and loved the collection of animals that they have. Last October, MetroDeal had a promo on Ark Avilon and Avilon Zoo tickets. I was so excited to purchase them since I was looking for a quick family adventure within the metro. A relatively small zoo would fit for the toddler. And we were not disappointed.

In the morning of November 1, we headed to Pasig to visit Ark Avilon. We were early and was able to park (for free) in front of the zoo. While I was on line processing our voucher at the ticket counter, my son and husband were busy saying hellos to a group of birds at the entrance.

The zoo has two floors. At the ground, you can find their animal collection in enclosed cages with glass for viewing. You can also find here the python and orangutan; and for a price, you can have a picture taken with them. I wouldn't want to risk my son so I dismissed the idea of taking the photo-op with them.

White Tiger!!!!!

Admiring the Alamid. No, thank you. I don't want to drink the coffee made from your poop ;)

Salt water crocodiles. Oh, hello Lolong's relatives!

Koi

I think one of the selling points of this zoo is the opportunity to feed their animals - arapaima, meerkat, tortoise, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other farm animals like goats.

On the second floor, you will find farm animals, rabbits, guinea pigs and some birds. They also have a small cafeteria and a party place should you want to spend your kid's birthday at the zoo.

The little ones can be really really hungry!
Overall, the Ark Avilon is a great zoo if you have little kids. I wouldn't recommend it to adults or teenagers since the place is really small and has a limited collection of animals. For friends who'd like to spend some time learning about nature, I recommend to visit the Avilon Zoo in Rizal.

Take note as well that the place can be really hot even in the morning. My son was soaked in sweat, we had to cut our trip short since he was  about to have tantrums due to the heat.
